Daycare…
Furry Friends Daycare uses positive reinforcement practices with our guests. We have a dedicated, well trained staff that are with the dogs constantly to maintain a positive, safe and fun environment. Our staff are trained in canine and feline first aid so you can be assured that your furry friend is in safe hands. We do not use treats during daycare time. This prevents complications with food allergies and dogs that are food protective. Dogs are split into different play groups based on size and energy levels. This is determined by their trial day. Each new member of our daycare is required to go through a trial day.

Dog Boarding…
Your dog must be a daycare client in order to board with us. Your dog will be interacting with our daycare pack throughout the day and therefore required to have passed a trial. Please go to our app to secure a boarding spot. Please be aware that there are limited spots and during the holidays the spots can fill up quickly. We provide beds, blankets and crates so you do not have to bring anything other than their food. Just let us know your dogs nightly routine and we will mimic it as closely as we can for your furry friend. We encourage you to write down your dogs feeding instructions so that we can maintain their schedule. In the rare case of them running out of food during their stay, we can provide house food for them at an additional charge. Check in regularly on our app and social media pages for pictures and videos!

Great alternative exercise when the weather is bad.
Exercise is great for the health of dogs.
It decreases boredom and is a great outlet to let out your pups energy that would otherwise be used toward undesirable behaviors.
Preparation for Session
Do not feed your dog right before the appointment. Give at least 30 minutes for the food to settle before vigorous exercise.
Please bring a well fitted harness for your dog.
Please try to get your pup to go to the bathroom before your appointment.
Notes
If your dog refuses to use the machine on their first visit, that is not a problem. We will not charge you. Some dogs need time to get used to the treadmill and a new environment.

The trial is typically a half day where a daycare attendant carefully and slowly introduces your dog to the pack. There are many things that the trial determines. First it determines if the dog displays appropriate behaviours towards other dogs and the staff. The trial also helps determine what play group your dog would thrive in the most. It also helps us see if our daycare is a good fit for your dog. In some cases, specifically in older dogs, daycare might not be the best fit because they are just not really into it. Like humans, they grow up and change and there may be a day when they graduate from daycare. In other cases, half days may be recommended. It all depends on what your dog needs/wants.
The safety of our staff and furry guests is our main priority and as such, some dogs may not pass the trial the first time. This does not mean that they are bad dogs or can never again come to daycare, it just means that they need to be trained up and pass the trial before they join our pack. We highly recommend owners bring their young dogs/puppies to our daycare. They are little sponges that soak up so much information and learn from a young age how to appropriately play/interact with other dogs and people.

We are currently open Mondays to Fridays from 6:30am to 7pm and weekends 8am to 6pm which can be a lot for the guests that have a full day stay. When dogs play hard and are constantly around stimulus, they get tired and grumpy. We provide 1-3 naps a day which ensures that the dogs get time to recharge their batteries so that they can get back to playing. This is essential to help maintain appropriate behavior between dogs when they are playing and interacting with each other. We provide crates, blankets and beds for the dogs during rest periods to relax.
We take dogs outside on leash 2-4 times a day (depending on how long they spend at daycare). If your dog is on a specific eating schedule we are happy to feed your dog whenever you like. We just ask that you provide the food as we do not want any stomach issues that may take place if they are introduced to a food they are not used to. If you happen to forget to bring their food one day we do have house food that we can give them with an additional charge to their stay. We also have a refrigerator if your dog’s food requires it.

Please bring a well-fitted harness and or collar with a standard 6 foot leash as well as any meals for your furry friend. We remove all personal items and place them in labeled bins to ensure the safety of dogs during play time as well as to maintain the integrity of the dog’s belongings. We provide crates, blankets and beds for their rest periods so you don't have to bring anything.

All dogs over the age of 6 months are required to be spayed or neutered. If you choose to wait longer, you may be asked to leave until they have been spayed or neutered. Unaltered dogs typically cause a behavioral shift in the pack. If staff feel that your dog’s hormones are altering/disturbing the pack’s dynamics they may be asked to leave prior to them turning 6 months until they are spayed or neutered.
